With an IATE gateway, clients and servers on a TCP/IP
network can access
airline reservation (CRS/GDS) systems and other hosts using
many of the
network protocols that they support.
The IATE gateway consists of a synchronous communications
board
and software installed on a non-dedicated PC or Sun system.
Each IATE PCI communications board (INSCC‑QP) provides up to
four ports for network communications. Multiple boards can
be
installed in each Gateway machine, providing a scalable
solution.
(Sun S‑bus boards are also available.)
For a TCP/ IP (MATIP) protocol connection, the InnoSys gateway uses
the system’s network interface card(s). The proprietary
InnoSys communications card is not used for this purpose.
IATE Gateways: Benefits
• High-speed host connections
(TCP/IP (MATIP), ALC, & AX.25).
• TCP/IP connectivity to terminals
and printers.
• Scalability to 400+ TAs on a
single gateway system.
• Multiple host connections &
protocols on a single gateway system.
• Support for multiple IAs on a
data line.
• Support for multiple desktop
operating systems.
• TA management tools supporting
multiple TA pools.
• Ideal for centralized gateways
servicing hundreds of
multi-platform
clients on a TPC/IP WAN.
• Ideal for use in large
mission-critical reservation centers
and
flight operations centers.
