The IATE Gateway for Windows runs on Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP (Professional),
or Windows 2000 (Professional or Server). or Windows NT 4.
For IP-based host connections, the IATE Gateway uses an ethernet network interface
supplied by the customer or pre-installed on
the PC system. If the IATE Gateway is to use legacy ALC or X.25 connections,
the InnoSys INSCCQP PCI card must be purchased and installed.
The Windows gateway can communicate with a variety of IATE Clients
(terminals, printing software, or API programs), running on
Windws 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, or UNIX systems.
For Windows-based Gateway systems, we recommend business-class
machines, with one of the following operating systems installed:
• Windows XP Professional, retail versions
(with or without service packs).
• Windows 2000 Server or Professional (Workstation),
retail versions (with or without service packs).
• Windows NT 4.0, Server or Workstation,
with service pack 3 or later.
Minimal requirements include an Intel Pentium-class processor,
400 MHz or above, and at least 64MB RAM. The software requires
around 30 MB on the installation drive, in addition to around 5 MB
on the system drive.
Following is a list of Windows PC systems that have been tested with
the IATE Gateway for Windows 2000 or Windows NT4, using the
InnoSys PCI card for ALC & X.25 host connections. Contact InnoSys
if you plan to use IATE Gateways with ALC or X.25 on a system that is
not on this list. Please refer to IATE Gateway documentation for
further information on System Requirements.
• HP Kayak and Vectra (selected models)
• Dell Optiplex GX110
• Compaq Proliant 1850R
• Compaq Proliant DL380
• IBM (selected models)
• Acer (selected models)
The currently supported IATE Gateway for UNIX runs on
Sun Solaris versions 2.4 and later. The Gateway uses InnoSys
INSCC-QP communications cards for PCI or S-bus.
The UNIX gateway can communicate with a variety of
IATE Clients (terminals, printing software, or API programs),
running on Solaris or other UNIX systems, Windows XP,
Windows 2000, Windows NT 4, Windows 98, Windows 95,
or Windows Millennium.
The IATE Gateway for UNIX provides functionality comparable
to the Windows gateway. UNIX Gateway revision levels
sometimes lag slightly behind the Windows version.
Solaris operating system version 2.4 or later is recommended.
The following Sun systems have been tested with the IATE
Gateway for Solaris. Please refer to IATE Gateway documentation
for further information on System Requirements.
• Ultra 5
• Ultra 10
• Enterprise 250
• Enterprise 420R
• Enterprise 450
The IATE Gateway for Macintosh is under limited support
at this time, with no additional development planned.
The Mac gateway supports only hardware containing an
available PCI slot, and running MacOS version 8.5 - 9.X.
This gateway supports ALC and X.25 connectivity only.
