Windows Platforms

The IATE Gateway for Windows runs on Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP (Professional),

or Windows 2000 (Professional or Server). or Windows NT 4.

For IP-based host connections, the IATE Gateway uses an ethernet network interface

supplied by the customer or pre-installed on

the PC system.  If the IATE Gateway is to use legacy ALC or X.25 connections,

the InnoSys INSCCQP PCI card must be purchased and installed.

The Windows gateway can communicate with a variety of IATE Clients

(terminals, printing software, or API programs), running on

Windws 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, or UNIX systems.

Recommended Systems

For Windows-based Gateway systems, we recommend business-class

machines, with one of the following operating systems installed:

        •       Windows XP Professional, retail versions

                (with or without service packs).

        •       Windows 2000 Server or Professional (Workstation),

retail versions (with or without service packs).

        •       Windows NT 4.0, Server or Workstation,

with service pack 3 or later.

Minimal requirements include an Intel Pentium-class processor,

400 MHz or above, and at least 64MB RAM. The software requires

around 30 MB on the installation drive, in addition to around 5 MB

on the system drive.

Following is a list of Windows PC systems that have been tested with

the IATE Gateway for Windows 2000 or Windows NT4, using the

InnoSys PCI card for ALC & X.25 host connections.  Contact InnoSys

if you plan to use IATE Gateways with ALC or X.25 on a system that is

not on this list. Please refer to IATE Gateway documentation for
